When it Comes to Running, Call Me the Rainmaker

And not like "I make it rain."

Go insane, go insane, throw some glitter, make it rain.

But like:

At least your flowers won't wilt.

So, suppose you have a beautiful day.

I will ruin it.

Of course it's not all bad.  Sometimes I get a delightfully cooling sprinkle as I run.

So refreshing.

Other times, however, it's not so pleasant.  And some of my friends have even had to suffer along with me.

Sorry Christy.

And now I'm training for a fall race!

My apologies to my local peeps.

    1. Only if you sit next to it on all of my runs so I can complain about how much I hate running on the treadmill.

  3. I'm glad you run despite having a penchant for causing rain to fall. Don't let the weather haters keep you inside ;) and I guess your rain is better than my black cloud of bad luck when it comes to gambling haha

    1. Oh yeah, I stay away from gambling too! (And the rain doesn't melt me.)

  4. Please run in Santa Barbara as we are suffering from drought. Actually if you could run the length of CA, that would really help. Thanks so much. Now get on it.

  5. I agree with KymberlyFunFit. Give your weird voodoo to the Californian draught people. Hold on, are you the X-Man Storm? Are you the living embodiment of Halle Berry's portrayal of an elemental? Oh my god, you're a mutant...I'm sorry, is "mutant" a slur? You're an "extra-abled enhanced person", right?

    1. Yes, I'm a mutant. I have an extraordinary ability to make simple things complicated. Like I told Kymberly, I'll see what I can do on the California front.

  7. I've almost never had it rain even when I wish it would. Out of all of the races I've ever done- it's never been raining either. Maybe if we combined forces it would level out! good luck training for the fall ! :)

    1. Really??? Do you live in the desert? It rains so much for me! You're right, we should run together and confuse Mother Nature!

  8. Can you come visit Austin for a bit? I'd kill to run in the rain right now- it's been so dry here. Our running coach says it's a blessing to run in the rain. :)

    1. I will say that when I lived in Austin I struggled to run 2 miles (so never really ran.) It is SO HOT there; I don't know how you guys do it. It is absolutely a blessing to run in the rain in Austin!

  9. THAT is quite a power you have!

  12. Up here in Ohio we have only very brief seasons that are fun to run outside. In the winter it is too cold, in the summer it is very hot, in the spring it rains.

  13. OMG this was hilarious!!! It feels like I'm running in the rain with the 98% humidity, but really I'm usually praying it will just actually rain

    ReplyDelete

    1. Oh yes, running in that kind of humidity is not fun--I usually want it to rain at that point too!
